In a reflective moment, I’m answering “yes,” to one person who noticed the title of my book is indeed, or nearly, the title of a Crosby, Stills and Nash song.  We usually think of the first line, “It’s been a long time coming . . . ” but it is followed by “it’s going to be a long time gone.”   Thus the actual title is “Long Time Gone.”

It is generally believed that Crosby wrote this in reaction to the assassination of Bobby Kennedy.

Somewhat of a sidebar note, I share a birthday with RFK.

csn-crop2 “Crosby, Stills & Nash,” their first album which was released in 1969, is full of some their most recognized hits.

And coincidentally, Nash has a new book out, entitled Wild Tales.  He gave an impressive interview on NPR this week, and this really is worth your listening!

Just remember, the darkest hour is always just before the dawn.
