“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever does.”  Margaret Mead

“……and the certain knowledge that at the end of your days you will be able to look back and say that once in your life you gave everything you had for justice.” Jill Ruckelshaus, National Women’s Political Caucus*

“Sooner or later we all discover that the important moments in life are not the advertised ones, not the birthdays, the graduations, the weddings, not the great goals achieved.  The real milestones are less prepossessing.  They come to the door of memory unannounced, stray dogs that amble in, sniff around a bit and simply never leave.  Our lives are measured by these.” – Susan B. Anthony (1820-1906)

Centipede’s Dilemma

“The centipede was happy quite,

Until a toad in fun said,

“Pray, which leg goes after which?”

That worked her mind to such a pitch,

She lay distracted in a ditch

Considering how to run.”

Red Queen’s Race

“It takes all the running you can do to keep in the same place.

If you want to get somewhere else,

You must run at least twice as fast as that.”

Everything You Have to Give

We are in for a very, very long haul…
I am asking for Everything you have to give

             We will never give up…
You will lose your Youth, your Sleep,
your Patience, and your Sense of Humor
and occasionally… the understanding & support
of people you Love very much.

In Return, I have nothing to offer you but…
Your Pride in being a woman, and…
all the Dreams you ever had for your daughters,
 and nieces, and granddaughters…
Your Future and the certain Knowledge that
at the end of your days
you will be able to look back and say that

Once in your life,
 you gave Everything you had
For Justice.
